CompactPCI® PlusIO Architecture

img_intro.jpg CompactPCI PlusIO is an extension to the CompactPCI standard and defines the pin assignment and the function of the user pins for leading 4 PCI Express® x1 links, 4 SATA, 4 USB 2.0 as well as 2 Ethernet 1000Base-T interfaces to the backplane. Therefore, in a CompactPCI PlusIO you can continue to use legacy CompactPCI boards and have faster connections for additional storage capabilities (including RAID), multi head displays or multiple Gigabit channels communications.
